NLAPW SOCIAL MEDIA UPDATE
A new, official Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/NLAPW/ will showcase links to member web sites, news, etc. Please stop in to “Like” us today and share your links!
There is also a NLAPW Members Only group, to which you must request access and be confirmed as a member in good standing before admission. It will serve as a place where current members can not only communicate with other Pen Women but also download files that are for Pen Women’s eyes only. Please visit and request access today: http://www.facebook.com/groups/102731903504535/
Twitter is another social broadcasting platform, different than Facebook. If you have a Twitter account, please follow @NLAPW, and we’ll follow you in return so that we can “retweet” your good news!
LinkedIn is a social media site which focuses on connecting professionals. If you have a LinkedIn account, please visit http://www.linkedin.com/groups/8552713 and request to join. We have a few new discussion posts, which may interest and engage you.
Ongoing: “Poem of the Week” series and “Art of the Week” series will continue in order to showcase Pen Women’s work. Please check the web site for guidelines and send your submissions to email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org
In addition we’ll soon be adding two new guest blogger series.
• Creative Inspirational Wisdom posts will focus on all aspects of the creative process: brainstorming, drafting, revising and “publishing”/showcasing finished work.
• A Creative Business will share observations and advice about making your passion your livelihood.
Posts should be 150 – 500 words on average, although longer pieces also will be considered. Accepted pieces will appear on our NLAPW blog first and then again later in upcoming anthologies from Pen Woman Press. Please send submissions for these two new series to email@example.com with the words “Blog Submission” in the subject field.
A special note:
We always appreciate extra help! If you’re interested in getting involved with the Publications Committee by helping to manage one or more NLAPW social media accounts, please contact with your interest and experience/qualifications. We would be delighted to hear from you. If your time is too limited to join the committee, you could still help the League by simply visiting and sharing our new Go Fund Me https://www.gofundme.com/nlapwdc) page. Every share helps up to raise funds for expanding services to members and for our beautiful Pen Arts building. We appreciate any and all participation in our efforts to connect with members and prospective members via the League’s publications!
My very best,
Virginia Campbell, president NLAPW
